Access Consulting

Access consultancy is a key part of my creative practice and includes:

  • Creative access consultancy on shows
  • Creative access consultancy
  • Training for organisations and companies
  • Mentoring disabled artists

I offer creative access consultancy for shows, venues and organisations. This is a flexible role that can be tailored to the needs of the client. I offer different rates for corporate, commercial and subsidised organisations or productions which
start at £250 a day.

In the past, on shows it has included embedding well-being throughout rehearsal and production processes, leading rehearsal room discussions on disability, introductions to the social model, designing captions, supporting relaxed performance design/adaptation, and noting access performances. I’ve worked with huge ranges in scale and resource, from small fringe shows to touring commercial musicals.

In the past, consultancy for organisations and companies has included governance reviews, implementing accessible recruitment processes, facilitating discussions on well-being and mental health at work, and embedding access throughout the organisation. I’m experienced in project management, facilitation, and can support teams to plan for access at operational and strategic levels of an organisation. I also offer training on neurodiversity, disability equality, mental health, creative access on a budget, writing access riders, and diversifying your career.

Mentoring and coaching has changed my life as a disabled artist and has become a core strand of my creative practice. I’m particularly suited to mentoring neurodivergent artists, and am happy for mentoring sessions to be included in DYCP applications. Mentoring references are available.
